Noncommutative Multi-Solitons in 2+1 Dimensions
The study of noncommutative solitons is greatly facilitated if the field equations are integrable, i.e. result from a linear system. For the example of a modified but integrable U(n) sigma model in 2+1 dimensions we employ the dressing method to construct explicit multi-soliton configurations on noncommutative R. These solutions, abelian and nonabelian, feature exact time-dependence for any val...
متن کاملMulti-stability and polariton solitons in microcavity wires.
Nonlinear polaritons in microcavity wires are demonstrated to exhibit multi-stable behavior and rich dynamics, including filamentation and soliton formation. We find that the multi-stability originates from co-existence of different transverse cavity modes. Modulational stability and conditions for multi-mode polariton solitons are studied. Soliton propagation in tilted, relative to the pump mo...
متن کاملImproved Stability for Pulsating Multi-Spin String Solitons
We derive and analyse, analytically and numerically, the equations for perturbations around the pulsating two-spin string soliton in AdS 5 × S 5. We show that the pulsation in S 5 indeed improves the stability properties of the two-spin string soliton in AdS 5 , in the sense that the more pulsation we have, the higher spin we can allow and still have stability.
متن کاملStability of Multihump Optical Solitons
We demonstrate that, in contrast with what was previously believed, multihump solitary waves can be stable. By means of linear stability analysis and numerical simulations, we investigate the stability of twoand three-hump solitary waves governed by incoherent beam interaction in a saturable medium, providing a theoretical background for the stability of the experimental results reported by Mit...
متن کاملStability of photorefractive spatial solitons.
We present a theoretical analysis of the stability of photorefractive spatial solitons along with experimental results that show that the solitons are stable for small-scale perturbations but break down when the perturbations exhibit a transverse scale comparable with the soliton size (cross section).
